What is .net used for?
.net has been around since the internet started. This domain name extensions is normally used as an alternative to the .com extension but is not as desirable. This domain extension simply stands for network and was intended to be used for portal websites from a main .com website.
As of today it is still not the desired domain for most for profit businesses but none the less is still works. Businesses just find themselves needing to remind clients or potential clients of their extension at net and not the com domain extension.
