What is an order management system?

An order management system is the beginning and ending of a customers purchase. It starts at the time of purchase and ends when the customer receives their order. The entire process is tracked by order placement, fulfillment, inventory management and shipping which can include picking, packing and delivery.

Also referred to as an OMS.
