What is the American National Standards Institute?

The American National Standards Institute does not create standards itself but oversees the creation of many measures and standards, including business standards while ensuring U.S. and international standards are consistent. Keeping uniformed standards between the the United States and International ensures the same standards to work for products used and sold abroad. Voluntary standards are one such variety they create for manufacturing personnel, products, systems and processes in most US business industries.

American National Standards Institute is also referred to as ANSI within the financial industry.
